Before your visit

Your confirmation email includes a link to our new-patient intake form. Please fill it out as completely as you can — or you're welcome to complete it when you arrive. We ask that you arrive about 15 minutes early for your first appointment.

Your first visit

We start with a consultation and health history, followed by an exam that includes orthopedic, neurological, and functional muscle testing. We then review our findings and recommended plan with you in plain language. With your consent, you'll receive your first treatment that same visit.

Future visits

We usually schedule a follow-up within a few days to see how you're responding, and your plan changes as you progress. Along the way you'll receive exercise, nutrition, and lifestyle recommendations. After reaching their initial goals, many patients choose to continue with ongoing wellness care.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a referral to come in?
No referral is needed. You're welcome to reach out directly by phone or through our contact page to get started.
What should I expect on my first visit?
Your first visit includes a consultation and health history, an exam, a review of our findings and recommended plan, and — with your consent — your first treatment. There's no pressure to begin care.
What should I bring?
Please bring a photo ID, any relevant imaging or records you have, and a list of questions you'd like to ask. Comfortable clothing is helpful for the exam.
How long is the first visit?
Plan on about 45 to 75 minutes. It depends on your needs and what Dr. Scott Kirchner, D.C., finds.
Which office should I choose?
Every first visit is with Dr. Scott Kirchner, D.C., at our Dana Point office, after a short call with our patient care coordinator. Mission Viejo offers Invisa-RED sessions and visits for current chiropractic patients.
Do you see kids and pregnant patients?
Yes. Dr. Scott Kirchner, D.C., offers pediatric care and pregnancy care using the Webster technique, alongside sports injury and rehab and general chiropractic care.
What conditions do you see?
Common reasons people come in include back and neck pain, sports injuries, sciatica, headaches, joint pain, posture concerns, and pregnancy-related discomfort.
What is chiropractic care?
Chiropractic care is a hands-on, drug-free approach that focuses on how the spine, joints, muscles, and nervous system work together. Care is tailored to your goals and comfort.
What does care cost?
Costs are discussed with you before beginning care, once we understand what's appropriate for you. For the neuropathy and knee programs, program pricing and payment options are reviewed with you after your free Discovery Visit.
